February Newsletter
My name is Rita Chamblin, and I’m the Road Supervisor for Turtle River Township. That means
I’m on the township board (board members are called supervisors) and my focus is the
maintenance and care of our township roads.
I was delighted to see so many township landowners at our hearings in December and January.
Turtle River Township held two public hearings to provide information about, and receive input
on, a road project for Little Bass Lake Rd. I want to thank the more than 50 landowners who
attended these hearings. We discussed the overall financial context of considering this road
project as well as funding options. The township has applied for a grant for the project and we
outlined the requirements and outcomes both if we do and if we don’t receive that grant. In
taking questions, I was glad to see such active participation. I’m grateful that community
members expressed their curiosity and wanted to make sure they understood the information
being presented. I appreciate that folks shared their thoughts and their preferences.
Our township strives to provide you with information that impacts our community, and it is in
community that we flourish. When you read our newsletter, catch our social media posts, check
out our website, or attend a hearing, you’re investing your time and attention in Turtle River
Township. Thank you!
